The Central Packaging Register has now released LUCID, the second part of the Packaging Register, a data reporting tool for manufacturers and retailers. The planned packaging quantities for 2019 can be entered in the first step. This will create a uniform data basis for any packaging sold and any packaging to be used in the dual systems. The Central Register can compare data and thus both recognise whether manufacturers / retailers are meeting their obligations and calculate the correct reference quantities for the recycling quotas.
At the same time, the Central Packaging Register released the auditors’ register, in which auditors, such as public auditors, tax advisors, sworn experts (Section 36 of the Industrial Code) and environmental assessors (DAU GmbH) must register, if they wish to operate under the Packaging Act from 1 January 2019.
